Despite Attempts to Paper Over Record, Marc Molinaro’s Constituents Deserve to Know Why He Voted to Cut Access To Medicare

Ahead of Upcoming Joint Fundraiser, Does Rep. Molinaro Agree with Speaker Johnson that Medicare Poses an “Existential Threat” to American Way of Life?

SOUTHERN TIER & HUDSON VALLEY, NEW YORK — Earlier this year, Congressman Marc Molinaro voted twice to cut funding for the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), the agency responsible for administering benefits. Cuts like these would force CMS to reduce its staff, increasing wait times for 4.1 million seniors and people with disabilities in New York. Despite recent attempts to paper over his record, Rep. Molinaro’s constituents deserve to know why he keeps voting to make it harder for them to access their Medicare benefits.

If Rep. Molinaro is serious about answering questions on Medicare, we have three:

  1. Why do you keep voting to cut funding for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), and how is that helping New Yorker seniors?

  2. Cuts to CMS funding would increase wait times and make it harder for seniors to access their benefits. Will you commit to voting against any future bills that cut access to Medicare?

  3. You’re about to attend a large fundraiser in New York City with Speaker Johnson. Do you agree with his past statements that Medicare poses an “existential threat” to the American way of life?
