Three Questions for Marc Molinaro Ahead of His Medicare Telephone Town Hall

Rep. Molinaro Recently Voted to Slash Funding for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, Which Would Make it Harder for Seniors to Access Benefits

SOUTHERN TIER & HUDSON VALLEY, NEW YORK — While Congressman Marc Molinaro is hosting a telephone town hall tomorrow on Medicare, his constituents deserve to know that he recently voted to gut the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services funding by 30%, a move which would have been devastating for seniors trying to access their benefits.

If Rep. Molinaro is serious about answering questions on Medicare, we have three:

  1. Why do you keep voting to cut funding for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), and how is that helping New Yorker seniors?

  2. Cuts to CMS funding would increase wait times and make it harder for seniors to access their benefits. Will you commit to voting against any future bills that cut access to Medicare?

  3. You’re about to attend a large fundraiser in New York City with Speaker Johnson. Do you agree with his past statements that Medicare poses an “existential threat” to the American way of life?
