2 Years Later: How the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law is Transforming New York

New York Already Set to Receive $16.8 Billion for More Than 350 Projects Across the State—From Roads and Bridges to Clean Water and High-Speed Internet

NEW YORK — Today marks the two-year anniversary of the passage of President Biden’s Bipartisan Infrastructure Law. The legislation, which passed with support from both parties in Congress, was a historic investment in the nation’s declining infrastructure that will continue to transform New York by lowering costs and creating well-paying jobs for decades to come.

Maria Martinez, Executive Director of Empire State Voices, released the following statement:
“This impactful piece of legislation is proof that investing in our communities works. Whether by making our commutes shorter and safer, ensuring that every household has access to clean drinking water, or expanding access to high-speed internet across the state, this legislation will touch the lives of every single New Yorker. As House Republicans are fighting this week to cut funding for programs their constituents rely on, I hope that our representatives remember the success of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and the positive impact that investments like these can have.”

Here’s how the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law has impacted New Yorkers:
In just the first two years, over $16.8 billion from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law has already been allocated to New York, funding more than 350 projects across the state. This includes:

  • $8.7 billion to improve our state’s roads and bridges

  • $4.3 billion to expand and improve public transportation

  • $1 billion to replace lead pipes and improve water infrastructure

  • $664.6 million to provide high-speed internet access to every single New Yorker.

And this is only the beginning.
