Marc Molinaro Aligns with Far-Right Freedom Caucus, Praises Massive Cuts To Programs New Yorkers Rely On

NEW YORK — New York Representative Marc Molinaro is touting a new Republican plan that would slash funding to government programs that thousands of his own constituents rely on. Congressman Molinaro admits to playing a “key role” in drafting this legislation alongside the far-right House Freedom Caucus. The bill is already being declared “dead on arrival” in the Democratic-controlled Senate and will do nothing to avoid a government shutdown.
The Republican plan would slash government funding by 8% across the board for almost every federal agency, affecting everything from access to Medicare and Medicaid to SNAP benefits and housing assistance. Don’t forget: House Republicans are fighting for even more drastic cuts in the full appropriations bills.
