NEW: Empire State Voices Launches First Ad Holding Rep. Anthony D’Esposito Accountable for Opposing Lowering the Cost of Insulin
The 30-Second Ad is the First in a Seven-Figure Paid Media Effort Highlighting Rep. D’Esposito’s Record of Opposing Legislation to Lower Costs for New York Families
NEW YORK — Today, Empire State Voices launched a seven-figured paid media effort to educate constituents in New York’s 4th Congressional District on Congressman Anthony D’Esposito’s record. The campaign will feature streaming, digital, and mail communications, holding Rep. D’Esposito accountable for fighting against the interests of his own constituents.
The first ad, entitled “My Oldest,” features Olivia and her oldest daughter, Alexis, who live in Uniondale, NY. Alexis has type 1 diabetes, and even with health insurance, they struggle to afford the cost of her insulin.
“Congressman D’Esposito is supposed to be fighting on behalf of the people who live in his district, people like my daughter and I,” said Olivia, a resident of Uniondale, NY. “Instead, he’s turned his back on us and opposed legislation that would materially improve our lives. We’re struggling with high costs here on Long Island, and he doesn’t seem to care.”
Full script of the ad entitled “My Oldest” below:
“Alexis is my oldest.
She was eighteen when she was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes.
It changed our world.”
“Even with health insurance, my insulin still costs $500 a month,
But if I went three days without it, I’d die.”
“When I found out our Congressman, Anthony D’Esposito,
Opposed a law lowering the cost of insulin,
As a mom, I was furious.”
“No one should have to choose between paying the bills and life-saving medicine.”
“Tell D’Esposito: ‘Stop voting to raise our costs.’”
