NEW AD: 9/11 First Responder Calls Out Anthony D’Esposito for Voting to Raise Costs on Long Island Families

“Stop Voting to Raise Costs on Our Families. It’s Just Not Right!” –Carl, Nassau County

NASSAU COUNTY, NEW YORK — Today, Empire State Voices launched a new ad in the Nassau County media market as part of its seven-figure paid media effort in New York’s 4th Congressional District. “Name It” is the third in a series of ads aimed at holding Rep. Anthony D’Esposito accountable for voting against the interests of working people and educating constituents on the Congressman’s record.

“Name It” features the story of Carl, a correctional officer and former volunteer firefighter from Nassau County. Carl was a first responder on 9/11 and views civil service as not just a career but a calling. He’s been struggling to keep up with rising costs and feels abandoned by Congressman Anthony D’Esposito, who has voted to raise costs for families like his.

“I do everything in my power to serve my community and provide for my family,” said Carl, a resident of Nassau County. “So it’s insulting to see Anthony D’Esposito claim to support first responders only to go to Washington and vote to raise our costs on everything from food and prescription drugs to utilities and rent! He claims to be looking out for Long Islanders, but when it actually comes time to fight for families like mine, he’s nowhere to be seen.”

Full script of the ad, entitled “Name It,” below:
“Working as a first responder is more than just a career, it’s my calling.
I’ve been a correctional officer, a volunteer firefighter,
And on 9/11, I responded as the officer in charge.
My job allows us to make ends meet,
But these days we’re all struggling to keep up.
Groceries, gas, medication, you name it.
And in Washington, Anthony D’Esposito voted to raise costs!
Tell Congressman D’Esposito: stop voting to raise costs on our families.
It’s just not right!”
