Brandon Williams Should be Fighting for His Constituents, Not With Ex-Staffers

Rather Than Lowering Costs for Central New Yorkers, Rep. Williams Seems to Be Saving His Energy for Holiday Party Outbursts

CENTRAL NEW YORK — Last night, Representative Brandon Williams was caught threatening his former chief of staff and campaign manager, Michael Gordon, in a profanity-filled confrontation at a D.C. holiday party. A video shared with Syracuse.comcaptured part of the Congressman’s outburst.

“You f--- with my family, I’ll end every relationship that you have,” Williams said. “Every single friend. Do you understand me? Do you understand me? You think I don’t know?”

Maria Martinez, Executive Director for Empire State Voices, released the following statement:
“While the people of Central New York are desperate for their representatives to lower costs and protect programs like Social Security and Medicare, Congressman Williams is focused on his own petty grievances. If Rep. Williams showed half as much passion in fighting for his constituents as he does in threatening former employees, New Yorkers would be far better off than we are today. I sincerely hope that Rep. Williams can stop pouring all his energy into personal vendettas and start focusing on the issues that truly matter to New York families.”
