Congressman Molinaro is Putting Seniors at Risk

Susan, Hudson, NY: “[Congressman Molinaro is] paying us lip service while voting to weaken the programs we rely on, putting millions of New York seniors at risk.”

BINGHAMTON, NEW YORK — Today, Congressman Marc Molinaro is holding a Senior Resource Fair for his constituents. He claims to be “committed to ensuring seniors in Upstate New York are heard and have their needs met,” but his voting record and positions on legislation tell a different story.

While on the campaign trail, Rep. Molinaro was a vocal opponent of the Inflation Reduction Act, legislation that has allowed Medicare to negotiate for lower drug prices and caps the price of insulin for seniors on Medicare. After taking office, he voted for the Default on America Act, which would make it harder for seniors to access their Social Security and Medicare benefits.

“It’s easy for a career politician to hold an event like this and claim they’re ‘supporting seniors,’” said Susan, a stroke survivor and Medicare recipient from Hudson, NY, “but Representative Molinaro is a U.S. Congressman. If he wants to ensure that seniors in Upstate New York have their needs met, then he needs to fight for legislation that protects and expands programs like Medicare and Social Security. Instead, he’s paying us lip service while voting to weaken the programs we rely on, putting millions of New York seniors at risk.”
