NEW AD: Empire State Voices Launches New Ad to Hold Rep. Marc Molinaro Accountable for Endangering Medicare, Social Security
The 30-Second Spot is the Third in a Seven-Figure Paid Media Effort Highlighting Rep. Molinaro’s Record of Voting Against the Economic Interests of His Constituents
NEW YORK — Today, Empire State Voices launched a streaming and broadcast ad to hold Congressman Marc Molinaro accountable for supporting legislation that could lead to large cuts in Social Security and Medicare and voting to make it harder for seniors to access their Medicare benefits. The 30-second spot is the third in a seven-figure paid media effort highlighting Rep. Molinaro’s record of voting against the economic interests of his constituents.
The ad, entitled “Get By,” features the story of Susan, a stroke survivor and Medicare recipient. Susan credits Medicare as critical to her recovery, voicing her frustration with Rep. Molinaro over his support for legislation that weakens the program and makes it harder to access benefits.
“Recovering from my stroke was a long and difficult journey, one that I’m still on to this day,” said Susan, a resident of Hudson, NY. “Without the coverage provided by Medicare, the treatment and rehabilitation I’ve received would have simply been out of reach. I’m where I am today because of the incredible doctors and nurses who helped me slowly regain control over my body and mind. I am where I am today because of Medicare.”
“Congressman Molinaro has mastered the art of publicly promising to support programs like Medicare while quietly working with his Republican colleagues to undermine them,” said Maria Martinez, Executive Director of Empire State Voices. “It’s past time that Rep. Molinaro puts his money where his mouth is and actually fights to support these critical programs that so many of his constituents rely on. Working New Yorkers deserve to know that their representative in Congress is fighting for their best interests. So far, Marc Molinaro has failed to do so.”
