Advocacy Groups Across New York State Are Sending A Clear Message to House Republicans: Stop Protecting George Santos
NEW YORK — Last week, For the Many and the Long Island Progressive Coalition joined Empire State Voices in publishing a letter calling out New York House Republicans who voted to shield Congressman George Santos (NY-03) from expulsion. The letter highlights the Republican House majority’s continued support of Santos, ahead of Empire State Voices’ launch event on Long Island tomorrow alongside hardworking constituents who will speak about how Rep. Santos’ continuous false claims have personally impacted them.
“For the last six months, Representative Santos has made a mockery of the state of New York,” said Maria Martinez, Executive Director of Empire State Voices. “And House Republicans— even those representing our state—have decided to side with a compulsive liar rather than those they swore an oath to represent. Empire State Voices and our partner organizations are standing together and pushing back on our elected officials’ decision to protect George Santos. We will continue to hold them accountable for siding with this fraudulent politician rather than using their power to advance policies that benefit their constituents.”
