NY Republicans Just Voted in Favor of SEVERE Cuts That Would Hurt New Yorkers
Congressmen D’Esposito, Molinaro, and Williams All Voted In Favor of the Failed Continuing Resolution
NEW YORK — Just now, New York GOP Members voted in favor of a continuing resolution that would have resulted in eliminating healthcare services for rural communities, increasing the costs of food, and decimating the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program.
Maria Martinez, Executive Director of Empire State Voices, released the following statement:
“Our elected officials showed us firsthand how unserious they are about the well-being of New Yorkers. They are willing to prioritize cuts over constituents and play political games with our livelihood. We are just over 24 hours away from a total government shutdown, and Congressmen like Anthony D’Esposito, Marc Molinaro, and Brandon Williams would rather vote to make cuts to crucial services that children and families rely on, including food and heating assistance over supporting a plan that would support their constituents.”
