Congressman Molinaro Opposes Biden’s Budget Plan: Lowering Drug Costs and Taxing the Rich

Rep. Molinaro Raced to Announce His Opposition to the Ambitious Proposal That Would Make Billionaires and Corporations Pay Their Fair Share.

UPSTATE NEW YORK — Shortly after President Biden released his proposed budget, laying out his priorities for fiscal year 2025, Congressman Marc Molinaro rushed to social media to voice his knee-jerk opposition to the plan.

As the article that Rep. Molinaro shared lays out, President Biden’s proposal calls for massive tax increases on the ultra-rich and large corporations, a move that is supported by the vast majority of Americans across the political spectrum. The plan would also reduce federal spending on prescription drugs by lowering costs while increasing support for the Social Security Administration, SNAP and other nutrition assistance programs, and other critical lifelines for working families.

Maria Martinez, Executive Director of Empire State Voices, released the following statement:
“Congressman Molinaro is trying to use partisan buzzwords and tired tropes to mislead the people in his district about this rather remarkable budget proposal. The fact of the matter is that President Biden’s plan would raise taxes on billionaires and big corporations, not everyday New Yorkers like you or me. Unfortunately, Rep. Molinaro is showing us once again that he would rather fight to protect the ultra-rich from paying their fair share than stand up for working families who are just trying to get by.”
